While on sabbatical, I received several intriguing etiquette questions from readers, which I promise to answer soon in this very space. In the meantime, here’s a cool anecdoteabout my favorite L.A. boutique.
In addition to heaps of cute clothes, this store has the nicest shopgirls in town. They know their inventory well and are quick to help each customer pull together a unique, fabulous look.
One day I was chatting with the owner when she introduced me to the store assistant, a friendly, 40-ish fellow with special needs. He lives in the neighborhood and was always hanging around, so a few years ago she asked him if he wanted a job.
Now he helps unpack boxes, grab coffee for the ladies, and carry items between the modern store and its vintage clothing outpost two doors down. The owner (also known as Miss Moonbeam) says they don’t know what they’d do without him.
Gotta love gracious girls with big hearts and impeccable style. No wonder I can’t stay away!
